WHEN SHOULD YOU CONSIDER IN HOME CARE FOR YOUR LOVED ONE?
The last time you visited your parents did you find the house with an odor or in disarray? Was the refrigerator empty? Were you concerned that they still had pills in the pillbox? Do they look as if they could use some assistance getting ready? Is there lacking in their personal care? Parents often make their children feel as if they are doing fine on their own. If your parent’s health is declining and you are concerned here are reasons some reasons to consider in-home care.
Appetite is poor where they neglect making meals for themselves.
They have become incontinent and are not able to clean properly to maintain personal care to avoid UTIs.
They have had falls.
They have poor decision -making skills ex. picking up stuff from the floor or reaching too high, using the stove and turning it off, etc.
They need transportation to the store or doctor’s offices.
